CATEGORY ANALYST - PART TIME

 


This is a part-time opportunity 20 – 24 hours per week.  This position will ideally be located in our New Hope, MN office.

 The Position

The Category Analyst plays a key role in understanding customer analytics and business performance through use of both external and internal data.  The Category Analyst is also responsible for designing and implementing data retention and reporting systems.    

  Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Utilize external syndicated data to analyze consumer demand.  Work with sales teams to develop real and compelling ‘stories’ to improve customer knowledge about our products. 

  • Analyze sales results by developing and improving reports to help understand key customers and their buying habits. 

  • Develop key account presentations using internal and external data. 

  • Provide analysis on key business drivers and metrics, to include assortment optimization.

  • Manage, design and create business reporting systems within the organization. Improve upon existing systems. 

  • Understand how data and information can solve business problems and provide opportunity for process improvement.

  • Create reports for sales, operations and finance that meet business needs.

  • Understand ERP system and assist in developing and improving ways to manage and store data.

  • Other activities as identified.

 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Essential

  • Must be computer literate and proficient in Windows and related software applications.  High degree of proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint is required

  • Experience using syndicated data such as IRI, SPINS, or ACNielsen

  • Must be able to make presentation and exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills. This includes making complex analysis easy to understand and repeat.

  • Attention to detail is a must.

  • Must be able to effectively interact with peers, sales teams, marketing teams and upper management

  • Must be able to work in a team environment.

  • Operate effectively within our culture of Integrity, Goodwill and Respect

 Desirable

  • CPG industry experience

 Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. 

 WORKING ENVIRONMENT

 Typical office environment, inside climate controlled.
