Procurement Manager
The POSITION
This leadership position is responsible for the Purchasing and Inventory teams, which drive activities relating to strategic sourcing and buying, as well as inventory control and reporting. The Procurement Manager also works closely in collaboration with the Logistics team, which is responsible for out-bound freight and warehouse activities. The Procurement Manager will support a work culture based on Results, Integrity and Goodwill; will architect new or enhance existing processes; and lead, train, and manage his or her teams consistent to budget.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
STRATEGY:
Thorough understanding of current company strategy and strategic goals, annual budget, and key performance indicators (“KPIs”). Participate in strategic planning and budgeting process.
Based on company strategy and financial goals, follow or improve upon current strategy for Purchasing and Inventory, as well as Logistics support.
CORE PROCESSES:
Follow or improve upon existing core processes related to Purchasing, Inventory and Logistics support.
Determine, measure and track objective standard of performance for each team member.
Purchasing and Inventory Management
Drive all aspects of Strategic Sourcing and Spend Management
Lead supplier relationship management and risk assessments. Develop and implement appropriate risk mitigation plans.
Responsible for negotiations and contracting.
S&OP – Planning
Develop robust category strategies that reduce supply base, reduce dependence on single/sole sourced suppliers, deliver continuity of supply, and provide annual cost reductions.
Effectively manage long-term relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Enhance strong supplier relationships.
Logistics Support
Provide insight to:
Maximize accurate delivery and fulfillment.
Minimize freight costs.
Minimize labor costs.
Minimize spoilage and excess inventory.
Promote safety and GMP requirements.
Develop and manage a logistics scorecard.
Select the appropriate carrier and negotiate effectively.
Enhance strong vendor relationships.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to think strategically and globally.
In-depth knowledge of complex pricing arrangements and supplier profitability.
Seasoned negotiator with knowledge of cost tools such as material breakdown, benchmarking, value analysis, and innovative purchasing tools.
Strong project management skills to drive projects to closure.
Knowledge of root cause analysis, problem solving, continuous improvement, corrective and preventative action, product quality assurance systems and supplier performance development.
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Suite (particularly Excel) and familiar with an ERP system.
Collaborate with other company functions in support of achieving company goals and achieving company budget.
Effective verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and handle multiple high priorities simultaneously.
High level of ethical behavior, confidentiality, and fiscal responsibility
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree: CPM preferred.
Minimum 10 years’ relevant business and people management experience in Procurement or Supply Chain discipline.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sit for extended periods of time, ability to type, talk and communicate, visual ability to use a computer and calculator, infrequent bending for filing, frequent lifting of up to 10 lbs

Typical office environment, inside climate controlled.
