JOB POST
Forklift Driver
Hours: 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. This position does include overtime hours as needed to support our production lines.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Perform a variety of warehouse duties to efficiently receive, store, pick and ship orders. This position supports both the production facility and the distribution center.
DESCRIPTION OF PRIMARY DUTIES
Forklift
· Operate a sit-down and stand-up forklift.
· Load and unload trucks in a timely manner.
· Complete paperwork and trailer inspections for all inbound/outbound trailers.
· Use forklift to move pallets to and from pallet racking.
· Review production schedule to determine product needs.
· Communicate with operations in all areas for daily production needs.
· Support order pickers and production line with a consistent flow of product.
· Ensure all products are taken from warehouse slots or bins using FIFO/FEFO
· Use an RF scanner to move and track inventory.
· Operate pallet wrapper.
· Complete inventory checks and cycle counts as needed.
Shipping
· Pick orders to fulfill customer requirements.
· Secure product to pallets using shrink wrap, edge protectors and banding depending on customer needs.
· Attach proper signage to pallets per customer and carrier requirements.
· Communicate with supervisor, leads and other team members to ensure daily shipping schedule is met.
Receiving
· Unload trucks and inspect material for damage.
· Verify pallet, Case and pounds received with shipping paperwork.
· Check in product by item number, lot number and quantity received.
· Separate materials by item and lot number.
· Communicate with supervisor, leads and other team members to ensure daily receiving schedule is met.
Safety
· Complete Forklift safety inspection daily.
· Operate forklift in a safe and efficient manner.
· Change batteries in a safe and timely manner.
· Change propane tanks in a safe manner.
· Work in congested areas.
Miscellaneous
· Perform sanitation tasks to ensure a clean and safe environment
· Communicate problems to supervisors.
· Maintain good communication with leads and supervisors
· Responsible for accurately completing paperwork.
· Work flexible work hours to meet shipping and receiving schedule needs.
· Perform other related tasks as directed.
· Maintain confidentiality with all information.
· Monitor storage trailer temperature.
· Lift and move boxes up to 55 lbs.
QUALIFICATIONS
***Essential
· Must pass forklift operation and safety test.
· Have basic math skills, including use of calculator.
· Able to understand and follow all procedures both written and verbal.
· Able to operate all hand and powered jacks.
· Able to complete all paperwork neatly.
· Excellent reading and number identification skills and able to read, write, and speak English
· Able to enter data into handheld computer accurately.
· Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment.
***Education and/or Experience
· High School Education or GED.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Sit or stand/walk for extended periods of time, ability to drive a forklift, bend, talk and communicate, move around facility, lift 50 – 110 lbs with help.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
· Typical warehouse environment, moving equipment, potential exposure to loud noises, potential congested areas during peak production season.
