MAINTENANCE MECHANIC
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our fast‑paced food manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This position is critical to minimizing downtime and supporting consistent production performance.
Hours:
1st shift: 7:00 am - 3:00 pm Monday through Friday.
2nd shift: 3:15 pm - 11:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
This position may include overtime hours as needed to support the production lines.
Pay Range: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour. This range reflects various factors such as education, skills, work experience, certifications, and more. Therefore, the final compensation for the selected candidate may fall anywhere within this range.

DESCRIPTION OF PRIMARY DUTIES
Production Support
o Troubleshoot and repair various types of production, packaging and process machinery and equipment.
o Trouble shoot and repair various buildings and environmental systems.
o Complete preventative maintenance procedures and assigned work order with scheduled time frame.
o Complete special project assignments in fabrication, modification, and new equipment installations.
o Reads and interprets equipment manuals, work orders, Proficient in reading electrical schematics and any other applicable documentation to perform required maintenance and service.
o Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment.
o Prioritize and plan work activities and use time efficiently.
o Able to deal with frequent changes in priorities, delays, or unexpected events.
o Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner by gathering and analyzing information skillfully.
o Work in a fast-paced environment.
o Responds promptly to internal customer needs.
o Complete PM’s and WOs in a timely manner and following all SOP standards.
o Fully utilize CMMS to document work, parts usage, etc
o Provide support with bag size changeover, machine settings, cleans, support Machine Operators, leads, and operations keeping all areas up and functional.
· Intermediate electrical troubleshooting competency and ability to support VFDs, sensors, pneumatic systems
· Train and mentor team mates especially on basic controls and electro-mechanical troubleshooting
o Perform other tasks as directed.
Safety
o Practice and apply good housekeeping and cleanliness.
o Responsibly for proper safety measures when working in packaging and processing areas, notify Leads and/or management of any concerns with safety regulations not followed or observed.
o Has the authority to stop line operations and notify Leads/management if faulty equipment or when lost parts have not been located and could cause a safety risk to the finished product.
o Observe all Food Safety rules and regulations
Communications
o Provide written and verbal communication and briefing to maintenance and production department personnel regarding downtime due to repair, projects, and modifications.
o Log all work completed on lines/areas, PM’s WO’s providing proper documentation for pass down’s/shift transitions and backup.
o Communicate shift issues with maintenance tech from next shift.
QUALIFICATIONS
***Essential
o Read and write English.
o Read and apply wiring diagrams and mechanical prints.
o Math aptitude
o Applied use of electrical/mechanical instruments (i.e., volt/ohm and amp meter, dial caliper, micrometer, and experience with 110, 220, AC motors and DC motors and simple schematics.
o Advanced operating knowledge of electronics systems
o Advanced experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, and fabrication
o Expert mechanical and intermediate electrical skills.
o Able to read complex mechanical blueprints.
o Knowledge of and able to operate hand tools, metals saws, grinders, drill press, benders, and welders.
o Welding experience using any type of torch.
o Strong mechanical aptitude

o High school graduate or equivalent
o One-year formal training and more than 5 years’ experience
o One plus year’s packaging experience
o OEM training or equivalent strongly preferred
o Definable fabrication experience – 2 plus years

o Prior forklift experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Occasionally: Kneel/crawl to check materials and machines
Reach above shoulder height to maintain machines.
Lift/carry up to 50 lbs. and over 50 lbs. with help.
Push/pull up to 1000 lbs. of equipment on a pallet with a pallet jack.
Frequently: Use hands to articulate mechanical and electrical items
Walk moderate distances to maintain equipment.
Talk/hear to give or take directions.
Continuously: Stoop/bend to maintain equipment
Climb stairs and/or ladder ways to access various places where equipment is housed.
Twist while adjusting items on a machine.
Working Environment: Typical manufacturing facility. Potential exposure to loud noises, moving equipment, potential exposure to chemicals and environmental hazards.
