MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Responsible for Waymouth Farms dba Good Sense Foods Maintenance Department. Provide maintenance support to all areas to insure the safe and efficient operation of machinery. Supervise maintenance team to follow GMP requirements and all SOP standards, completion of PM/WO’s, machine and building maintenance.
DESCRIPTION OF PRIMARY DUTIES
· Job Result Areas and Primary Accountabilities/Duties
o Responsible for the repair and preventative maintenance of all production equipment.
o Responsible for the maintenance of the shop and equipment.
o Coordinate all capital projects relevant to Production Equipment
o Maintain inventory of all recommended and needed parts.
o Order all necessary parts and maintenance supplies.
o Maintain Operations Dept. Asset List.
o Maintain, schedule, and assign preventative maintenance and work orders.
o Coordinate scheduled machine repairs with Production Manager and Scheduler
o Modify/upgrade equipment facility to maximize effectiveness and efficiency of operations.
o Works with Production Manager to recommend and coordinate installation of new machines and systems.
o Repair and maintain buildings and workstation environments.
o Supervise and direct Maintenance Technicians.
o Trouble shoot and repair various buildings and environmental systems.
o Detect faulty operations, defective equipment, and repair, as necessary.
o Reads and interprets equipment manuals, work orders, and any other applicable documentation to perform required maintenance and service.
o Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment.
o Prioritize and plan work activities for Maintenance.
o Able to deal with frequent changes in priorities, delays, or unexpected events.
o Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner by gathering and analyzing information skillfully.
o Work in a fast-paced environment.
o Responds promptly to internal customer needs.
o Provide support with bag size changeover, machine settings, cleans, support PMO’s, leads, and PO’s keeping all areas up and functional.
o Follow all inventory/parts procedures and requirements maintaining required resources to keep areas fully functional preventing extended periods of operational downtime.
o Maintain high level of communication with Operation Management, and VP Quilty.
· Communications
o Provide written and verbal communication and briefing to maintenance and production department personnel regarding downtime due to repair, projects, and modifications.
o Log all work completed on lines/areas, PM’s WO’s providing proper documentation for pass down’s/shift transitions and backup.
· Safety
o Practice and apply good housekeeping and cleanliness.
o Responsibly for proper safety measures when working in packaging and processing areas, notify Leads and/or management of any concerns with safety regulations not followed or observed.
o Has the authority to stop line operations and notify Leads/management if faulty equipment or when lost parts have not been located and could cause a safety risk to the finished product.
· Miscellaneous/Other
o Observe GMP and maintenance standard operation procedures.
o Maintain confidentiality of Waymouth Farms processes, procedures, etc.
o Inform Management immediately of problems or out of control situations.
o Perform other tasks as directed.
o Communicate shift issues with maintenance technician team members.
QUALIFICATIONS
***Essential
o Read and write English.
o Read and apply wiring diagrams and mechanical prints.
o Math aptitude
o Applied use of electrical/mechanical instruments (i.e., volt/ohm and amp meter, dial caliper, micrometer, and experience with 110, 220, AC motors and DC motors and simple schematics.
o Advanced operating knowledge of electronics systems
o Advanced experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, and fabrication
o Able to read complex mechanical blueprints.
o Knowledge of and able to operate hand tools, metals saws, grinders, drill press, benders, and welders.
o Welding experience using any type of torch.
o Strong mechanical aptitude

*** Education and/or Experience
o College degree – preferably in Industrial / Mechanical Engineering.
o 5 years’ experience and/or technical training in maintenance of Food Processing Equipment
o 2 years supervisory and/or maintenance management experience.
o Experience in Food Processing environment

o Prior forklift experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Occasionally: Kneel/crawl to check materials and machines
Reach above shoulder height to maintain machines.
Lift/carry up to 50 lbs. and over 50 lbs. with help.
Push/pull up to 1000 lbs. of equipment on a pallet with a pallet jack.
Frequently: Use hands to articulate mechanical and electrical items
Walk moderate distances to maintain equipment.
Talk/hear to give or take directions.
Continuously: Stoop/bend to maintain equipment
Climb stairs and/or ladder ways to access various places where equipment is housed.
Twist while adjusting items on a machine.
Working Environment: Typical manufacturing facility. Potential exposure to loud noises, moving equipment, potential exposure to chemicals and environmental hazards.
