Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift
Shift: Full-time 2nd shift
Due to continued growth, Good Sense Foods is expanding our team and launching a new 2nd shift. We are seeking a skilled Production Supervisor to lead this shift and play a key role in our ongoing success. The selected candidate will begin on 1st shift for training, with the 2nd shift anticipated to start production in mid‑May.
In this position, you will oversee all shift operations, champion people and food safety, and drive continuous improvement across production processes. If you’re a hands‑on leader who thrives in a fast‑paced, FDA-regulated manufacturing environment, we want to meet you.
About the Role
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading an entire production shift, ensuring safe operations while meeting production goals, quality standards, and regulatory compliance. You’ll manage performance, develop team members, collaborate across departments, and execute sustainable process improvements.
What You’ll Do
Production Leadership
Lead daily production operations to meet schedule commitments and company goals.
Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with OSHA, food safety guidelines, and internal procedures.
Support and enforce Good Sense Foods’ quality and food safety standards.
Operational Excellence
Manage the finite production plan to maximize labor and equipment efficiency.
Apply root‑cause thinking and Lean principles to implement long‑term improvements.
Ensure documentation accuracy and assist with QC signoffs when needed.
Monitor GMP compliance and take corrective actions where necessary.
Oversee shift staffing levels, including scheduling temporary labor.
People Management
Coach, mentor, and evaluate production team members.
Set clear expectations and hold employees accountable to safety, quality, and performance standards.
Support training and development for Production Leads and shift teams.
Address employee concerns with fairness, confidentiality, and effective communication.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Quality Control, Warehouse/Distribution, HR, Cost Accounting, and Plant Engineering teams.
Communicate production issues, shortages, or unexpected events to the Director of Production.
Ensure smooth communication across all shifts and departments.
Qualifications
Required
Minimum 4+ years of experience in food manufacturing, FDA-regulated packaging, or similar environment.
1–2 years of manufacturing supervisory experience.
Proven success in people leadership, process improvement, and problem-solving.
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work in a high-paced environment.
Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb stairs, and perform physical tasks as needed.
Flexibility to work overtime and varying schedules.
Strong communication skills and ability to address groups effectively.
Team-oriented with the ability to manage stress and change.
Preferred
Post-secondary education in Business, Manufacturing Management, or Supply Chain.
Prior manufacturing management experience.
Experience with BRC (preferred) or GFSI standards.
Bilingual in Spanish/English or Hmong/English.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Working Environment
Typical food manufacturing facility with exposure to:
Moderate to loud noise
Moving equipment
Environmental hazards and chemical exposure

Salary Range:
The expected annual salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000. This range reflects various factors such as education, skills, work experience, certifications, and more. Therefore, the final compensation for the selected candidate may fall anywhere within this range.
